Who is Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar or Bageshwar Dham Maharaj, is a prominent Indian epic narrator (Katha Vachak) and a Hindu spiritual leader. Shastri was born on 4 July 1996 in a small village in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, India, to a family of Brahmin priests.

From a young age, Shastri showed a keen interest in the Hindu scriptures and spiritual practices. He received his early education at a local school and then went on to study at a renowned Sanskrit institute in Varanasi. During his studies, he gained a deep understanding of the Hindu scriptures and became an expert in the ancient texts.
After completing his studies, Shastri started traveling across India and began giving discourses on the Hindu scriptures. He soon gained a large following of devotees who were inspired by his knowledge and devotion. In 2012, he was appointed as the Peethadhishwar (spiritual head) of the Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, a famous religious pilgrimage site in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh state of India.

As the Peethadhishwar of Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, Shastri has been instrumental in the revival of Hinduism in the region. He has organized several spiritual events and festivals that have attracted thousands of devotees from across the country. He has also been actively involved in various social and welfare activities such as providing education, healthcare, and other basic amenities to the underprivileged sections of society.
Shastri is widely regarded as one of the most influential spiritual leaders of his generation. He continues to inspire and guide his followers with his knowledge, wisdom, and devotion to the Hindu scriptures.

Shastri is a disciple of Rambhadracharya and currently serves as the Peethadhishwar and Head of Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, a Hindu pilgrimage site in the Chattarpur District of Madhya Pradesh. He is widely known for his preaching of Ramcharitmanas and Shiva Purana, and is considered to have some charismatic powers achieved through Sadhana by his followers.
Shastri has also established an Annapurna Kitchen in his Dham where free food offerings are arranged for his followers, and holds an annual function for the marriage of poor and destitute girls. He is also working on establishing a Vedic Gurukul for promoting ancient Vedic studies and Sanskrit.
Shastri reportedly brought 300 people who had converted to Christianity back into Hinduism during a Gharwapsi program in 2021. On January 25, 2023, the government of Madhya Pradesh increased his security following death threats received by him.
On the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23, 2023, Shastri gave a slogan “Give us your support, we will give Hindu Rashtra” to declare India as a Hindu nation. He also urged for Ramcharitmanas to be declared the National Book of India. In an interview with Rajat Sharma on his show Aapki Adalat, Shastri stated that he respects all religions and is not against any religion but will not tolerate objectionable remarks against his religion. He also affirmed that he will continue to raise the demand for a Hindu Rashtra and Akhand Bharat.
Government of Madhya Pradesh increased the security of Shastri following the death threats received by him.
